After 3 years with the old design, this website has a new template. This time around, I started from an existing template I’ve been using on another blog, called Graphy. This is a lightweight, easy-to-read template that is better attuned with today’s web reading sensibilities – meaning, mostly, that I’m not using itty bitty tiny font sizes for my body copy anymore.
As usual, it’ll take me a while to get it shaped the way I want it to, but I like it so far. This change also gave me the opportunity to clean up things a bit and develop a few WordPress plugins of my own (especially to creating sharing links) rather than rely on monstrous, resource-loading-hungry third party plugins; why many WordPress plugins insist on loading so many third-party scripts and fonts, even if unused, is something I’ll never understand.
